2023 shows January to April

Gwynedd Cat Club & Manchester and District Cat Club 23/04/2023. I was in Olympians of 6 in each show and came 3rd and 4th. I won BOC in one show and I also won a special memorial class in the Gwynedd for the former show manager who sadly died in 2021. I didn't do so well in one show as the judge didn't have a trolley and I like my feet on the trolley and also they let me see the white cat that doesn't like me so I had a hiss at him too! But I did ok really. As it was St Georges Day I wore my special bandana, that auntie Leigh- Anne of Kitzar Crafts made me, after judging!

My write ups.

Judge Kirstyn Nicholas-Lumley. Olympian Class.  Third to IGMC Hercule Purrot Hercule was less confident in his pen and I wonder if the hustle and bustle of the judges had unsettled him a little but once out he blossomed. Handsome with a capital H he is another black and white who makes my soul sing and my eyes tingle. Deepest of black coats with iridescent eyes that change colour in the light his markings are spectacular, and that moustache gives him seniority and military presence. It’s wondered if the Hercule Perrot, as created by Agatha Christie, moustache has magical talents and his name sake has maybe inherited this talent. Once in my arms he was confident and happy understanding that he has been made to be loved and enjoyed.

Judge Sarah Holden. Class G838 – AV Neuter. 1 st –  IGMC Hercule Purrot, MN, SH – Black & White, a very handsome boy, dense glossy black coat with crisp contrasting white, he smells amazing, I love his black splodge on his face, and his white ear featherings against his black ears, super long whiskers, a happy boy.

Judge Nigel Rose. Marie Rose memorial Class Non pedigree. Winner, IGMC HERCULE PURROT, a black & white boy who, I am informed, goes by the name Spud at home. This cat is no couch potato, he is a lively boy. When my steward got him out he wriggled and got on the judge’s trolley quick enough but not before he got a cuddle off Kath. Once on terra firma his attitude changed, he transformed into a well behaved, superb temperament show cat and boy did he show off! He was well groomed, good condition, excellent temperament and had this air of attude “pick me, I’m the one”, and he was. Well done and a deserved winner Just a note, before he went back I picked him up and gave him a cuddle, no wriggles. He looked at me as if to say “Job done”. Well done

Preston & Blackpool Cat Club & Singapura Cat Club 23/03/2023. I did well again and WON in my Olympian Class of 7. in the Preston show. I only went in one as the Singapura was a breed show so wouldn't have counted but I DID win Best Non Ped Adult in that one!  I won Best of Colour in the Singapura show over 3 other cats and also won all my side classes. This was my best show of 2023 so far.

My write ups.

Judge Michael Eames. S70M NON-PEDIGREE PET SH SELF WITH OR WITHOUT WHITE. BOC awarded to: IGMC HERCULE PURROT a magnificent black and white shorthaired lad with a very distinct look about him (he couldn’t hide in a crowd!) and a real character, came straight over to me as I opened the pen. a nice, settled lad who enjoyed his attention… he knows how to butter up the judges! PB908 MOST HANDSOME EXHIBIT. 3 rd:  IGMC HERCULE PERROT – the most charming black and white shorthaired lad… an absolute character!

Judge Janet Wilshaw: AC Imperial GMC Olympian Class Male.  Olympian certificate to  IGMC Hercule Purrot This handsome cat fills my eye, and handled like a dream so easy and confident and unruffled. He is of course a black and white SH and by now you must know that I have a real weakness for this colour combo. Striking good looks and a rook load of charm, he eased the Olympian certificate out of my hands with the greatest of ease. My congratulations to him and his doting owner.

Judge Janet Wilshaw - BLACKPOOL ROCK A CAT OR KITTEN THE JUDGE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE HOME. 1st to Walker’s IGMC Hercule Purrot - of course - who else?!

Lancashire Cat Club 1809/03/2023. Not one of my better shows but we have them from time to time, can't win everything and there was a cat there that has upset me before and did so again! I got 5th in the Olympian but there were 7 in it so I was happy to be placed! I didn't win Best of Colour but the cat that beat me got Overall Best in Show so that was no disgrace! I was 3rd out of 3 and 2nd out of 5 in my side classes and still got a reasonable report.

My write up.

Judge Gavin Eyres: AC Imperial Grand Master (Olympian class) Male. 5th IGMC HERCULE PURROT (NPS n 03) MN 06.09.2019 Beautiful three-year-old chap with a lovely short black and white coat. A bit grumpy with me today (which is unlike him as I have seen him before and love him) but very stately looking with his long white whiskers and his gorgeous white muzzle with his little black moustache. Not his day today but a little beauty.

Coventry & Leicester Cat Club & Household Pet Cat Club 18/02/2023. I did well again and even though I was 5th out of  12 and 4th out of  10 in my Olympian Classes they were HUGE classes and mummy was proud of me for even being placed against such fabulous competition.  I won Best of Colour in each show over 2 other cats and also won all my side classes. This was my first show of 2023 after a 3 month break.

My write ups.

Judge Janet Wilshaw: S.H. SELF (SINGLE COLOUR) CAT, WITH OR WITHOUT WHITE, NON-PEDIGREE PET, MALE. BOC to IGMC HERCULE PURROT Oh man I loved him at first sight, I couldn’t see past him all day - what a cracker! This section knows my weakness and its a perfect black and white cat! His markings are quite unique giving him a super ‘tache’ effect hence the name! Always superb presentation from Madame Walker, so well known for doing it right and giving me a hard time as well as flooring me with her wonderful children.

Judge Peter Kilmartin - Class C864 Olympian– 5th  IGMC, Hercule Purrot (SH Black & White MN). A very eye catching black and white short hair, this beautiful black and white boy with very soft short lying coat, the black shone, the white was like snow and the his Tash is really eye catching. He has beautiful green eyes, very expressive, purred like a tractor, shown and prepared in excellent condition.

Judge Jean Broad - Olympian - 4 th  IGMC HERCULE PURROT A mere baby in the class at 3 years 5 months. This adorable young black and white lad with his black moustache I have met before but he was a young kitten and today he was in a class with the big boys where he held his own. His white feet were a pristine white and also the white on his tummy. I don’t think being in the end pen facing the door did him any favours but I do look forward to seeing him again when he is older, he can only go from strength to strength. Needless to say he has a lovely temperament, I wouldn’t expect anything different from this owner.

Judge Take Home Class - 1 st  IGMC HERCULE PURROT I love this boy and he could certainly come and live with me any day but I suspect he prefers to stay where he is as he is idolized by his owner.
